Our lives are filled with decision. The goal of the Decision Neuroscience Laboratory is to understand how these choices are represented by the activity of neural populations in the brain. Using event-related potentials (ERP), a non-invasive neuroimaging technique, we capture dynamic brain activity as it emerges over the time course of decison-making. From these measurements, we hope to learn more about what goes on in the brain, both when making simple choices and when incorporating more abstract information, such as cost or long-term goals.
