S. Andrew Schroeder

Someday, I'll post syllabi and course handouts here.

Since I teach at a small liberal arts college, it probably won't surprise you to learn that teaching is very important to me. Here is a list of some of the philosophy courses I have taught:

  • Intro to Political Philosophy
  • Ethical Theory
  • Current Debates in Political Philosophy: Rawls & Nozick
  • Current Debates in Political Philosophy: Equality
  • Health, Measurement, and Justice (cross-listed phil and econ)
  • Science, Values, and Democracy (cross-listed phil and STS)
  • Seminar on Science and Values
  • Seminar on Imperfect Duties
  • Philosophy for Children (co-taught)

Every summer, I teach at Harvard's Clinical Bioethics Course. I've offered sessions to clinicians on the following topics:

  • The relevance of philosophy to clinical bioethics
  • Rationing and distributive justice
  • QALYs and cost-effectiveness analysis
  • Utilitarianism
  • Disability

Someday, I hope to make better use of this page.
