S. Andrew Schroeder

Someday, I intend to post a few syllabi and course handouts here.

Since I teach at a small liberal arts college, it probably won't surprise you to learn that teaching is very important to me. I was especially honored to be recognized by CMC's student body after my first year of teaching, and to receive a 2015-17 Graves Award in the Humanities. Each summer, I return to Boston to teach at Harvard's Clinical Bioethics Course.

Here is a list of some of the philosophy courses I have taught:

  • Intro to Political Philosophy
  • Ethical Theory
  • Current Debates in Political Philosophy
  • Health, Measurement, and Justice (cross-listed phil and econ)
  • Science and Values
  • Seminar on Imperfect Duties
  • Philosophy for Children (co-taught)

At the Harvard Clinical Bioethics Course, I've offered sessions to clinicians on the following topics:

  • The relevance of philosophy to clinical bioethics
  • Rationing and distributive justice
  • QALYs and cost-effectiveness analysis

Someday, I hope to make better use of this page.
