Title: Unitary equivalence to a complex symmetric
matrix
Abstract:
It is known
that every n by n
matrix is similar to a complex symmetric matrix, but if we require
unitary equivalence then this claim fails for n > 2. We will
present a test that can almost surely determine whether or not a given
matrix is unitarily equivalent to a complex symmetric matrix. We
will also discuss how to extend this test to cover every 3 by 3 matrix.
