Title: Multiple solutions for semilinear and quasilinear elliptic boundary value problems
Abstract: Variational methods have been used successfully to prove existence for a certain class of elliptic boundary value problems. When combined with infinite dimensional Morse theory, they provide a powerful tool for proving existence of more than one solution under certain conditions. This talk will survey results in the semilinear case and explore some recent developments in the quasilinear case (in particular, problems involving the p-Laplacian).
